Key Personnel

We are passionate about customer service. Our entire team from the owners through to our monitoring team have a fundamental drive to assist our customers whenever we come in contact with them. That drive ensures we meet the immediate need, satisfy the request, answer the question and make our contact as memorable as possible. All operators employed in the Monitoring Centre are required to undergo an intensive training induction to ensure total compliance to the S1 Monitoring training manual, a program that covers all aspects of the monitoring centre operation. There is a shift supervisor on duty at all times, tasked with managing the team including decision making for incidents whilst maintaining company policy, industry standards, the law and customer instructions.

David Newham

Company director with accounting background & training, having completed a Bachelor of Economics (ANU) and attaining CPA accreditation, David has more than 30 year’s security industry experience. David’s primary responsibility is the management of the Security 1 business including compliance and financial governance. David is Security licensed in ACT, NSW, QLD, VIC & SA and has completed a Certificate IV in Risk Assessment.

Myke Thomas

Myke has over 18 years in the electronic security and alarm monitoring industry spanning roles including Monitoring Operator, Duty Manager and General Manager to his current position today as the General Manager of Bureau and Corporate Solutions for S1 Monitoring. Myke is experienced in all facets of alarm monitoring with extensive experience in security alarm design and delivery. Working in the Bureau and Corporate sectors for the past 7 years has provided an in-depth appreciation of the specialised services required.

Angela Dumbrell

Angela has over 7 years monitoring experience in the security industry and is currently working as our Control Room Manager responsible for the successful delivery of our Grade A1 facility in Canberra. Angela currently oversees 20 staff and has built a team based around the S1 Monitoring compliance-based training program implemented recently.

Neville Simpson

Neville has worked in the Security industry for over 23 years concentrating on technical and service-related divisions. During this time, he has amassed an immense knowledge base across all aspects of the security industry including the installation of hardware, software development and alarm communications technologies.
